Paul was born and raised in Yorkshire, and came to study dentistry at Birmingham University in 1973, and has been in the Midlands ever since. Married with two adult sons, he is also now proud to have his first grandchild.
Since qualifying in 1977, he has over a combined total of 27 years, owned and run three previous practices of his own in Walsall, Tamworth, and Worcester, as well as 12 years experience holding various associateship posts in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Cannock, and Worcester.
In dentistry, he takes a special interest in the prevention of disease, the treatment of gum disease (periodontal disease), root canal treatment and the preservation and restoration of broken down dentitions.
Paul considers it to be of paramount importance to keep his skills and knowledge up to date. To ensure he can offer his patients the very best standards of treatment, based on sound, evidence-based techniques.
In 1996-7 he attended the prestigious yearlong Paul Tipton Course in Restorative Dentistry at St Anne’s Postgraduate Centre in Manchester, and in 2007-8, he attended another 15 months postgraduate course in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry with Central England Specialist Referrals in Birmingham to update his skills in improving patients dental appearance, and improve the predictability of treatment.
Outside of the practice, Paul leads a quiet private life revolving around his family. He is a huge music buff and enjoys reading on a wide range of subjects particularly history, world affairs, and spirituality. He is also an accomplished fine scale model-maker.
